Improving Environmental Efficiency for more sustainable European regions: new data and empirical evidence is a research project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
The specific objectives of the project are the following:
- Obtain and analyze greenhouse gases emissions of European Union NUTS-2 (Nomenclature of territorial units for statistics) regions.
- Develop a measure of regional environmental efficiency and green productivity growth.
- Analyze the role of institutional quality on emissions intensity.
- Analyze the role of Research & Development (R&D) and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on emissions intensity growth.
